This made me laugh...

Thanks again Stat Counter:

Dear person, try this place:

Bday Bash #2

January is a busy month in our family (or should we say 9 months before January appears to be busy, wink wink!)
We have Tyler on the 11th, myself on the 21st, my mom on the 28th, and Dave on Feb. 2!
So we had a big family dinner at Ricardo's to celebrate. I love the month long celebrating!
Me, Addie, and my Dad
Dani, Jakey, and I
The Goose getting serious with the cupcakes. I like her approach of just shoveling it straight in, why use hands?
Preggie sisters. How is my double, I mean triple chin, doin' in this picture?!
Me and my honey (and Mango Baby, (at this point, after dinner and dessert, she was more of a Ricardo baby!))
ps. do you like my see-thru leggings? And Matt looks like he is about to sneeze!
Without this lovely lady, I would not be here! Love her.

Sunday Stroll

First of all, thanks for commenting on the last post readers! Fun to "blog" meet you! Now down to business.
Now that church is at 9am, we have some good time on our hands in the afternoon. After a sweet Sunday nap, and a snack, we are anxious to get off our butts. So, the past two Sundays we have found ourselves at the beach taking in the beauty in our backyard!
This Sunday at the harbor:

Me and Mango Baby
Love love love him.
Beautiful!

And last Sunday at the Pier:

I love Sundays!

Mango Baby

23 weeks tomorrow! She is the size of a large Mango. I like to picture her like mango rather last week's spaghetti squash or a carrot! She has been moving around like crazy today! Must be fun in there! She is our little Mexican jumping bean!

President Hinckley

Our dear President Hinckley passed away today. I am so sad, and will miss him, but I so happy at the same time that he gets to be with his sweetheart again. He left such a great legacy. I feel so lucky to have attended our Stake Conference where he spoke via satellite just two weeks ago. I was doing a little reading about him today and hadn't realized that he has dedicated and redicated over 92 temples in his life time. He has done so many great things in his lifetime, and I am so grateful for the thing I have learned from him.

Hello Target.

After calling BFF sister yesterday, to tell her about my fabulous shoe buying experience, we got to talking about Target's amazing new flats. Then, this morning while browsing some blogs, I came across a few pictures of more flats at Target. Must check them out.
I am thinking these would look good next to my new addition in the shoe rack:

ps. Dear New Shoes, I will always love you more.

I love days like this...

Our sink was broken, Juan came to fix it, so I got out of the house. Went to the bank, deposited some Bday money, and went the pier to read (in the car of course, sooo cold today). On the way home, I decided to stop at the Aloha Coffee Hut, where they have never heard of a vanilla and caramel steamer before, so they only charge 1.50 for a big yummy cup of that goodness. THEN, (this is the best part) I wondered over next door to a cute shop I had seen some to-die-for shoes last week. I wanted them desperately for my bday. Bday came and went, and no shoes. I have been dreaming of them. So I just went in to give them some attention when the store owner decided to make my week. "Hi, just so you know, all of our shoes are 50% off today". Whatt?!?! I was already holding the beauties in my hand and I just lifted them up and said, "Even these?!" in a quiet hopeful and doubtful voice at the same time. "Yes, those too!" I love you new shoes.

23 and Prego sounds better than 22 and Prego.

Thanks to friends and family, Monday was a happy day!
Danielle, my sis, and her entourage, took me to a yummy breakfast at the Spectrum. We shopped around a little and tried to stay warm!

Later in the day, my parents took me to my favorite place for lunch, Nordstrom Cafe! Yummy! Matt was going to take me to CPK and to see 27 dresses, but I was a little stuffed from a day of feasting. So, we ended up going back to the Spectrum, and I showed him some cute stuff I found for the babies room. You know you are growing up when you buy stuff for someone else on your birthday. It was the best!
Then we went to my parents house and had cake and ice cream. My cute grandma made this cake for me, and sent it home with my mom (she lives in N. California). It was SOOO good.
And this might have been my favorite thing I got all day:

Some of my loot!

Siesta

Why do naps make me grumpy? And lose motivation to do any other "chores"? Does this happen to you? Maybe it was too short? Too long? What is the secret here?

I did google "nap" and came across wikiHOW. Who knew? In a few months I may be typing in...sleep. nursing. diaper. baby. husband.
Anyway, here are my findings...

How to NAP

Every once in a while, we need to take a breather and relax ourselves in order to deal with the outside world. Napping can help refresh and refocus the mind in order to be more productive.

Steps

  1. Make sure there are no distractions (you won't get a world-class nap at work or school).
  2. Make sure you have no other commitments -- an unfinished to-do list can linger on your mind and prevent you from getting to sleep.
  3. Wear comfortable clothing, something light and soft.
  4. When washing sheets, add a scent that you enjoy, such as lavender.
  5. Arrange pillows and covers suitably. Make sure there are no wrinkles in the sheets, as they can cause discomfort. If you don't have a pillow, use what you can in your environment -- rest your head on your hands, use a sweatshirt, etc.
  6. Turn off all lights, TV, music, and other distractions.
  7. Lie down in a comforatable position.
  8. Close your eyes and think of pleasant visions.
  9. Relax and breath softly.
Tips
  • Keep the air temperature 1-2 degrees cooler than usual.
  • Get yourself very tired or very bored before attempting to take a nap.
  • Find some "white noise" -- a constant predictable sound that will soothe you to sleep. Make sure it has no spoken words to distract you.
  • A short nap after learning can help you retain information.
  • Sometimes light can give you headaches after a light nap, try to gradually introduce your eyes to bright lights to avoid headaches.

Warnings

  • Don't nap to combat depression. See a therapist if you have unresolved issues, rather than hiding under your covers.
  • Maybe your nap is a way of avoiding that to-do list. To make yourself feel better, do some short item on your list, or make a bit of progress on a longer progress. Your sense of accomplishment will help you relax.
  • If you nap longer than half an hour, you may enter "deep sleep," where your body thinks it's bedtime, and you may wake up groggy and cranky. Set a timer for 30 minutes max.
  • Don't take a nap shortly before you have to go to bed, as this can prevent you from falling asleep when you need to.

Squash Baby

22 weeks, and baby girl is the size of a spaghetti squash! We went to the Dr. on Friday and she was almost a pound! Keep growing baby, but please don't stretch out my skin!

ps. Thanks for all the bday calls, texts, and comments! I felt so loved!

Perfect Breakfast

My sis made these yummy muffins that other day and said they were amazing. I decided to make them this morning. They came out of the oven 10 minutes ago, and Matt has already had 4, and he is currently in the kitchen sneaking more. Thanks Danielle!

Dear Mom/Matt,
This is my Birthday wish list.

These legs. Haha..kidding. This jeans.
These shoes.
This 2000 watt hair dyer. Speed Freak.
This lovely collection.
Love,
The Birthday Girl.

Midweek Nightmare.

Wednesday night Matt and I headed over to hang out with my Dad (Mom is out of town) and I decided to forget about my "healthy diet" for just one night, and party Craig style. We had pizza (tons) and the yummy cinnamon sticks that came with, and then a Craig-sized portion of ice cream (if you know him, and his ice cream portions, you will know they are insanely large.) I picked the wrong night to forgo the usual yogurt, fruit, cottage cheese, veggies. I'll spare you most of the dirty details, and let's just say that around 1 am Matt was in the bathroom cleaning the floors, walls, throwing in heaps of laundry (towels, rugs, etc.) as I groaned on the couch shaking. Appropriately 20 minutes later Matt had himself and I dressed and in the car on the way to the ER. Never in my life have ever gotten the flu, and haven't ended up in the hospital. I throw up nearly 30 times or more. So with baby girl on his mind, Matt took me right in before I got too dehydrated. They took my straight to Labor and Delivery (which freaked me out), and monitored the baby. She was fine. So I spend the rest of the night and next day in the ER getting fluid and trying to keep it down. This is my worst nightmare! I hate it!

In case you ever wondered what I look like after throwing up for hours, no make up, 48+ hours of NO sleep, and barf in my hair, this picture is for you. I personally think I look pretty dang good.

After laying here for a few days...

Drinking tons of these:

And this today:

I am started to look a little more like this: (make up and hair helps tons)

It didn't hurt that I received this beauty at the door this morning from my in-laws for my upcoming Bday. Thanks Taylors!
Things are lookin' up!
