36 Weeks

Don't count on seeing my face from now on...it is a little, how could I put this nicely?...misformed.

Quick Trip

This weekend we went to Sacramento! It was tons of fun! My cute mother-in-law and sister-in-law threw me a shower. Most of Matt's family live up there, so his grandma, aunts, and cousins were there, a few friends, and my aunt and cousin were able to come as well! It was really fun, and baby got some great stuff.

Matt and his grandparents.
Matt and the family bear, I mean dog.
While I was there, Uncle Greg did a root canal on me! It didn't even hurt, and here is the lovely dead nerve.
Matt rocking out
Me rocking out
A little too much fun+too much heat+salty lettuce wraps=really swollen ankles and high blood pressure.
Dr. was a little concerned and wanted me to go to the closest ER. But our flight back home was leaving in two hours! So, we went to the drug store where they have the blood pressure machines and I took my BP like 10 times until it got close to the safe zone. We decided to just fly home, and everything ended up being ok. I am still really swollen, but my BP was lower. Check out these kankles!

35 Weeks

I never thought I was make it to this day. It always just seemed to far away! And I can't imagine getting to 40 weeks (I really hope I don't have to wait that long).
I had an appointment today and I complained a lot, and told him about all my aches and pains, and he just listened to the heart beat, and gave me a general answer for all of my never ending questions, and sent me on my not-so-marry way. Next week will start the "exams". Yikes. Stay tuned for the updates on my lifesaver (see below).
**Thanks for putting up with my complaints, giving advice and suggestions. I LIVE those all of those right now. It helps me realize everyone has gone through it.

Happy Earth Day!

We grabbed these at Costco! They are great! And if you live in the LA area, all the major grocery stores are giving away reusable bags today! Do your part to help the Earth!

Help me

Because pools and sand are not always available to relieve my pain, what else is there?! I am getting so uncomfortable. That is such an under statement. I am in pain. I feel like there is a foot stuck in my rib. Seriously. I have constant sharp pain! What can I do in these last weeks to not burst into tears. I have been holding mine in all day waiting for Matt to walk in the door. Help me. Please!

Who loves Auntie?!

Week in Review

It was quite the week!
My cute friend Mary was so nice and threw me a baby shower! It was so much fun, and we got tons of great loot! We need everything, so it was such a huge help! Our ward is so generous!

Thursday night was our Childbirth class, (see below) and on Friday I went to help out Danielle. I didn't really do much to help, she totally has it handled. I did take a nap with little Carter! I love him. And or course I got to see the other cute kiddos. Jake is so cute. Check out the Kool Aid mustache.
Friday we went to the temple. My dress totally did not fit. It was really funny. In a sad kinda way.
Saturday night we had a little bonfire with the Spencers and Hennings. It was freezing, but nice and warm by the fire!

Sunday was a great day! Church, and then a yummy dinner with the family!

Childbirth Prep. Class

Welp, it feels real now. Last night we went to our Childbirth Preparation Class at the hospital. I don't know what it was, but I felt like I was on the verge of laughing out loud the entire time. Maybe it was being in a room full of people going through the exact same aches and pains as me. Or maybe the fact that all the men were shivering and all the women were fanning themselves. Or maybe it was how all the moms were trying to get comfortable in those plastic chairs. Or, it might have been the how all the mom's got up at least once during the lecture to go potty. I went twice, but I was smart enough to go before the break, talk about a rush! A few things I know for sure were funny.

One. When we arrived seeing all these couples (girls with huge bellies, and husbands carrying pillows), roaming around the lobby and halls-totally lost.

Two. The teacher dimmed the lights, turned on James Taylor, and told us to partner up. Isn't that the way we got into this situation in the first place? Matt quickly chose me as his partner. Phew. Then she directed us to face our partner, moms put arms around dads neck, lean in, and sway. It turned into a full blown Junior High Dance. It was great! I would have known the $95 dollars included a dance, I might have worn a little glitter.

Three. Getting to strange positions in front of a room full of strangers.

Four.
Matt almost fainting and turing ghostly white during epidural video. What?! I thought it would be the part when the show the BABY COMING OUT OF "you-know-what". Nope. It was the needle. At least I am a little bit at ease about that part. I don't care if he is passed out for that part of the whole experience, as long as he is awake and helping me through the rest. Poor guy. not.

Five. The mom and her 15 year old daughter next to us. I have never seen ANYONE so into something as that mom was into the HEE HEE WHOOOs. She was closing her eyes and swaying her daughter around in circles.

Six. Watching the men try to act comforable listening to the women talk about boobs, and mucus plugs, and ginas (I refuse to use the real word on my blog), etc. I saw some guy nodding off until the lady dropped the V- word. Way to get attention back!

Seven. The teacher handed out Lifesavers. Told us she has a visual lesson for us. You guessed it. After were done sucking on those little miniature cervix 's we had such a good idea how they dilate and get thinner. Thanks the the visual lesson.

Eight.
Taking the whole HEE HEE WHHOOOO breathing serious. Come on! I felt like I was in a movie, but I wasn't. It was real life. My life. And I am having a baby and I have to do the HEE HEE WHOOOO thing. Too strange.

Did you go? Any funny stories? I wonder if anyone has gone into labor while in class. That would be sweet and well worth the $95.
ps. next week I might muster up the courage to ask someone to take a picture of us at the class. That is a must. Do I dare?!

So, I have a deep innie belly button. Well... I did have a deep one. As of late, it is getting very, very shallow and I am nervous it might pop out any second. Will it happen?! Did it happen to you? I kinda feel like my belly button is one of these, and it is just a matter of time before it pops out:
Haven't I gone through enough already? I have gained 30+ glorious pounds, gained a few lovely stretch marks on the love handles, I constantly have heartburn, I am pretty sure I have a broken rib (at least it is REALLY bruised), I pee pee my pants at least once a day, have a bad case of RLS every night, etc. You get the point. So, it is necessary that I get an outtie? I submit not. I already know I am really pregnant. I don't need ALL the signs. I also really love all strangers asking me with a sweet and sympathetic smile on their faces, "How much longer? You look about ready!?" Nope. Not yet. Waiting for my belly button to pop out to let me know is done cookin'.
When did it happen to you?!

Pineapple girl

Baby is growing like crazy and constantly doing the "Jane Fonda" in my tummy. Only 7 weeks to go! I had a dream about her last night, she was born as a 2 year old boy. Boy, wouldn't that be a surprise! Ouch.

Baby Girl Born With Two Faces Worshipped as Reincarnated God

This is totally for real. Check it out! My question, do you have to feed both mouths if it is going to the same stomach?

I love my neighbors.

Remember Panchito from Nacho Libre? (Kid in stripped shirt) Well, he is my neighbor. Not really, but they could be twins. So I borrowed eggs from his mom the other day, and I saw them outside yesterday and I told them I have tried to bring them eggs to return the favor, but they are never home. Then Panchito proceeds to tell me that it is ok, and they have TONS of eggs because he eats them after he works out. Then, tells me about his diet he is on, and how he has lost 20 pounds already (I think he was exaggerating) and THEN he proceeds to invite me to diet with him. Thanks Panchito.
On a side note, about a month ago I saw his mom and she says, "Wow, I haven't seen you for awhile, you look different." I laughed politely and nodded my head and patted my tummy. But then she proceeded to puff up her cheeks and motion with her hands that I have big cheeks. Thanks again.
Hey, maybe they don't know about the 6 pound BABY I have cookin'!?

Tips for the nips?

Caution: Nursing and boobs mentioned. No boys, unless you are Jared Wall, because he is totally into the whole nursing/boob thing right now with Lindsey and even bought her "My Breast Friend". Awesome.

First of all, I can't believe some of you like that hair below! I sort of put it on there as a joke, and then everytime someone said they liked it, I had to look at it again! I look so NOT me! But thanks for loving me however I look. I actually am going to get my hair done tomorrow! I can't wait! No bangs though, just the usual. Which brings me to my next question of: How do you get your hair done with a newborn?! I am thinking a little far in advance, but this is important. If I am nursing, I can't just leave her with my mom. Hire a wet nurse?! Totally joking. Once, my mom left my sister with a friend for a few hours, and when my mom came to pick her up, the friend told my mom that she hoped she didn't mind, but Danielle was hungry to she nursed her! Oh my! (So gross Danielle, I can't believe you would let someone do that!)
I am getting a little nervous about the how nursing thing. I know it is going to hurt like crazy. But, I really want to do it. I have heard horror stories of cracking, bleeding, infections, and flapping nips. Have you had good/bad experiences. Tips for the nips? Is preparation necessary? Give it to me ladies. I am ready.
ps. My little brother calls nursing, "milking".

Welcome Back!

Aubrey Chapman got home from her mission this week! It was so fun to go see her last night and catch up! KHill was also there, and I got the lowdown on her new life in LA! So fun!

Do you like it?

You're up honey!

This is super creepy. A pregnant man?! At least next time Matt can take his turn.

ps. after some brief research, turns out this "guy" was once a woman, but never changed "those" parts.

Dave's Mission Call Video

Here is the video from April Fool's when Dave got called to Provo. His real mission call is on You Tube too, but it is 8 minutes long.
Last night we started watching the other mission calls on there and it was soooo funny. I think we watched for at least an hour. If you are bored, I highly recommend watching them. The best are the guys who get called to Las Vegas, and they try to act really excited and the guys we just act plain pissed. All the reactions are classic!

Flava Flav

Golden Spoon has a new flavor everyone! Sweet Tart. Yup, their version of Pinkberry. Last night I had already ordered my usual Peanut Butter, when I saw the new flavor, but I did get a sample. Prettty good! A lot of people were ordering it. I might try it tonight with raspberry! I'll report back.

I tried.

I tried to take a little nap today, but something kept waking me up. I would doze off and then I would be startled awake. After a few times, I realized that the "something", was ME SNORING! What?! Little extra weight+ stuffy nose= snoring. Sad day. I gave up the nap.
This is now on my shopping list. Sorry Mattie, I believe you now.

Big Baby!

Today we had an ultrasound with a specialist we have been going to. Baby K's kidney's were enlarged for a few months, so they were keeping an eye on them. Today we found out they are just perfect! Such a relief! But, we also found out that she already weighs 5.5 pounds! Ut oh! A lot of her measurements were showing 34-36 weeks! The Dr. said not to worry, but I am hoping I don't end up with a 12 pounder! She was moving all around and already has a lot of hair! So cute! We are so excited to meet our little girl!
Tonight we went over to meet baby Aven Wall. He is such a cute baby! Lindsey and Jared filled us in on a ton, and we have a lot of shopping to do! It was so fun, and we can't wait till it is our turn!

The Real Deal

It came today and it was ligit! He is called to serve in the LIMA, PERU NORTH mission! He leaves June 25! So exciting! He is going to be a great missionary! Love you Dave!

Tuesday, April 1, 2008

ps. Our family is really interesting this week. Danielle is a ticking baby bomb, and Dave is on the brink of finding out where is going for 2 years! Top that.

Not so funny..

Welp, today was the day that my little brother was to get his mission call! He called to say it arrived! Mom went into panic mode and in a quick 2 hours everyone was either watching him on the webcam, listening on the conference call (grandparents, friends, siblings, etc.), or there in person with him in Utah. Personally, I was busy babysitting, sick kids, and got them up from naps and dragged them over to the parents house to watch on the webcam. Not an easy task. So, we are ALL ready. Mom starts crying, all that stuff. He opens it and it says PROVO, UTAH! Oh my. No one said anything, for a while! Then laughing. Poor little Dave just keeps looking through the papers and keeps his smile on the while time. Then, after way-to-long, his super dumb roommate decides to let everyone know that he has just punk'd us all, including poor Dave. Needless to say, I think the only reason Nate didn't get killed was because I think everyone was really relieved. Maybe this will all be funny in a few years. Or perhaps tomorrow when the real deal arrives and it really says Provo! Check back tomorrow for the actual call. Any guesses?
