Welp, being a home owners has almost killed us already. ALMOST!
We got our keys on Friday finally!!!
We ripped out tile in the kitchen and bathroom, and painted, and laid half the tile all in one day. Never been so tired. We have been over there everyday cleaning, cutting tile, putting in new baseboards, or finding other little (or what we thought would be little) projects that need to be completed before we move in.
Saturday is the big day.
Needless to say, I am taking a little break from this blog until my fingers recover from all that scrubbing.

That kinda Mom

Just got home from the beach. I am still replaying a few interactions in my head, and in totally awe.

We were at "Baby Beach", and let me tell you, there were tons of little babies there. It was great. But Kate decided to go check out the toys of the people next to us. Well, she got within about 2 feet of a perfectly sand-less towel, when some lady stands up, and puts her hand out, and starts freaking out! "Don't get on my towel! Don't get sand on my towel! STOP STOP" And she acts like she is about to push Kate away from her towel. OH NO SHE DIDN'T! Seriously lady? All I have to say is she is lucky she didn't touch my baby, or all those babies would have gotten a good show today.

About 5 minutes later, Kate is playing in a little puddle with a boy, and I looked away for a minute, and when I looked back at Kate, she had tons of sand on her head and on her face. I figured she did it herself, and thought it was funny. THEN, the little boy, (probably like 3), throws a huge handful of super wet sand right at her face. I looked at the boys dad, (or maybe it was his grandpa) who was standing right next to me, and he doesn't even react. I didn't say anything, but the kid keeps chucking sand at Kate. Finially I said, "Oh honey, don't through sand please!" And then he proceeds to chuck more at her! Honestly? The man just stood there watching! So strange. I scooped her up and said, "Looks like we need to play somewhere else"!

Then there are the mothers that get all bent out of shape with your baby plays with their baby's toys. Don't even get me started.

I am so glad I am not that kinda mom.

Official *

This morning I told Kate if she was good, we would buy her a house today.

So, FINALLY, we got the call to come sign loan docs. FINALLY! We have been in escrow for 3 months! Three!
We watch a lot of HGTV (Property Virgins), and were expecting a room full of people, just as excited as we were to watch us sign papers. At least some balloons? Sparkling cider?
But, it was just me, my sugar daddy, and some lady with an accent. We signed and signed, and Matt had to tell me how to write an "L"in cursive for my signature that had to include my middle initial. Then, we walked out and looked at each other and said,"That was it?!" Matt felt like with such a big room, they could have stuck at least few people in those chairs. A little anticlimactic after such a long wait.
We had a little celebration in the parking lot. We went to dinner, and then enjoyed the Duck's game from the comfort of Matt's company's suite.
(Football, and hockey? Matt's dream come true.)
Oh what a day. Sure glad Kate decided to be good.

* Still waiting for keys.

16 Months

16 months?! What. How could that be right?!
I can't even explain how quickly my baby has been changing over the past 2 months. She runs all around, she talks, she is sassy, she is sweet, she is funny, she is transforming into a toddler.
She sleeps in every mornings, and I get impatient to see her little face. She continues to be the happiest girl I know, and the easiest baby.

She says (or tries to say): Happy, Dada, Mama, Mom, Papa, duck, sit, wow, ut-oh, train, eyes, nose, moon, kick, clock, "there it is" but is sounds like "da is", etc.
Food she likes: FRUIT. She could be happy just eating fruit at every meal. She also loves string cheese and if the fridge is open, she will snatch some up and bring it to me to open. Soy milk!
Favorite Toys: BOOKS. She rather looks at books over any other activity!

Favorite Song: Still rocking to the Black Eyed Peas! She really gets excited when their songs come on.
She is understanding commands and following directions really well. She can tell her to take out her binky and put it away, and she will pop it out and throw it in her bed. Or, tell her to find a book and take it to Grandpa, and she does!
She is totally obsessed with bracelets right now. She always has to have two on, one on each wrist. She loves my make up, trying on my shoes, and anything with a handle becomes a purse. I LOVE that!

Kate is my best friend, I love that little 16 month old (big) baby so much!

I am living the sweet life.

I am blogging from my bed. With my little chubby girl snuggling next to me. She has some crazy morning hair! She is wearing a Jammie shirt with rainbows, hearts, and suns. And just a diaper.
She has TWO blankets to snuggle with, and is sucking on her Binky. She is watching Imagination Movers, with her hand resting on my boob. (It must be a comfort thing to her, I keep moving it, but it goes right back.) She is obsessed with bracelets right now, and just spotted one of them on my nightstand, and held out her wrist, her signal she wants it on.
Sometimes I worry that I won't soak up this time enough. Will I remember lazy mornings like these ten years from now? I want to.
She is changing so fast. I can see it happening right before my eyes.
She just crawled off the bed, and has returned with books. I am off to enjoy my lazy morning.
I love this life.

Happy Birthday and a night out!

The adults of the Bewsey, Edmonds, and Taylor families, headed out for a night of fun to celebrate the birth of our beloved Danielle.
We ate at Javier's, very yummy. Craigers gave everyone 5 dollars and 20 minutes to find a little gift for the birthday girl. She made out with some See's, a Campbell's Soup Cookbook, a postcard, nail polish, Golden Spoon gift card, and a few other goodies.
It was nice to get a night out, and actually enjoy eating dinner and shopping around!
I love you Sister. Do we look alike? Bewsey ladies. Mom, Megan, Dani, Ani. Her favorite part of the night was when the Mexican man fed her the first bite of the flan! The boys were there too. See!?

Labor Day Weekend

Friday night we met up with family in town at Ballpark Pizza.

I use to get little prizes out of this same "Fun Chicken" when I was little!
Kate and her cute cousin Ashlyn. Saturday was my cousin's shower that I decorated for, (will post a few pictures later), and then I rushed over to the temple to take photos outside of two families from our Branch. This was from later that night. Love these people. Monday was spent at the beach! It was so fun. Danielle and Aaron brought their new motor home. It made all the difference in an enjoyable day at the beach, especially with kids! Mom and Danielle Aaron, Carter Man, and Mattie Tired out boys! Tyler and Jake. Cute Carter. Found our the next day this little guy had a broken arm! Me and my Dad. The girls. Addie and Kate. Me and husband. Sisters. Too bad she wasn't wearing her suit has like mine. We could have been twinners! Enjoying her Popsicle. Family bike ride. Kissing cousins! I love that Kate has a cousin only 5 weeks older than her! So fun. Then we hit up the Labor Day sale at Lowe's and spent $1300 on boring stuff. AH! So not fun. But saving $300 was really fun! It was a realllly long, and reallllly fun day! And we have the sun burn to show for it!

SC 3

About a year and half ago, we were asked to serve in the Spanish Branch in our Stake. I was just about to have Kate, and although I was a little scared to have so many changes all at once, I knew for sure there was a reason we needed to be there. We have learned so much from the members of the Branch. They are the most humble, kind, and spiritual people I have ever been around. It has been hard to be super excited about our move, because we are moving out of the stake, and will no longer serving there. A few weeks ago, it really hit me, and I tried to soak up as much of the Branch as I could. I really think we have become a strong family from our experience over the past year and half. We have learned what it is to be a family from the strong example set by us. I know we have made life long friends, and hope one day we can serve there again. This past Sunday was our last time there, and it was hard to keep my emotions in check. I have never seen my husband cry(besides getting a little teary eyed when Kate was born), until Sunday. As the closing song began, we opened our hymn book, and tried to sing the words, but tears came in their place. We both looked at each other and cried. Our time there may have been cut short, but we never forget our time spent with our dear friends.
